File is read only.  Disc is full, damaged or write protected
When I open a document residing on one computer in my ntwork from another computer on the network and then make changes to the document and try to save it back to the other computer on the network I get a message that he file is "read only". If we try to give the file a new name and save it we get a error message "Word can not save this file, Make sure that the disc you want to save this file on is not damaged, full, write protected." We ahve check all the share setting and made appropriate updates but nothing allows us to save the document. Any Help out there? Paul1 person needs an answerI do too

Are these both Windows XP machines? What version of Word? Does it work if you first copy the file to your local hard drive and work on it there? Would you then be able to copy the changed file back? (just as a test)-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
